Richard Yates Loves the Suburbs, Too

PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT

No matter how many of your stupid friends tell you the best ribs are on some corner of San Pablo Ave., they are fucking wrong. Those folks are the equivalent of music fans convinced that no blues played after the war is authentic, or that a gig at The Omni (can't we pool funds and bring this place back?) is a sellout to true metal.

The best bbq is in Lafayette, CA. Accept this fact. Bo's is the winner. Pricey, yes, but the king of tenderness and understanding. I know the suburbs suck the vibe out of your ambience needs, but put on dark glasses and join me for some fine eats.
I think we should book a lunch for March 21, the first day of spring, and put a little hope in our bellies.

I went to a new BBQ place called B's in the Fillmore today. Got the St Louis pork ribs and beef sausage with a side of beans and greens. Amazing. I'm going to lay down now.

Oh, and for those that care..Noah Lowry hurt his arm the other day. Looking bad for him this season (again).

Lincecum, Cain, Johnson Sanchez, Zito- Lowry is irrelevant until the first one goes down, probably on April 7.

by the way, Bo's last name?

McSwine- I kid you not. His son was in my class.

Perfect.

LOwry was relevant bc if he had avoided injury, he could ahve been trade bait for a hitter. BTW- guess what Tim Lincecum's new salary is for 2009? .......$650K. And Zito makes $17M. How insane is that?

Great last name. I'm going to their website to preview the menu.

but how much hitter are you talking about for a guy coming off arm surgery who hasn't exactly established himself yet? He needs to throw a good year, and then we can talk trade

Are you vaguely bi-curious about the new indie?

Check out one unemployed AmRep's fan attempt to explore the other side.

"bicurious about indie." indeed. Why must indie be so faggy? We need an alternative to garage punk that isn't emo or arcade fire. Does such an animal exist?
