The Dirtys- Teenage Teenage Problem Child

It's always refreshing to hear The Dirtys, even if these songs don't quite match the heights of the best album tunes like "You Should Be Sinnin'." There is a fuck-all quality to these guys, as every song sounds like it could implode at any moment. Tight only means plowed in their lexicon. Legend has it they had legendary ingestion appetites, and if that kind of thing can be illustrated through sound, this might do it. If cheap trucker speed affects folks variably, I give you The Dirtys, playing different songs when they're playing at the same time. And it works, charmingly, if you're predisposed to love the underdog. They're like that lovable mutt who eats the neighbor's turtle and has really bad drug problems. You know the one.

what doesn't make sense, d'lana (best known for being nekkid on oblivions records) did tour booking for awhile, i guess in the early 90's. ok, not everyone, but the dirty's, bantam rooster, not positive but i think neckbones, gospel swingers

"D'lana?" Wow! What a great name for a truly striking woman. And she booked p-rock shows in Memphis? Is that right?

I have been to a fair amount of shows in the Bay Area. There has never been a female scenester who looked like that. To say the least.

she was actually in la at that time, her husband, james arthur, was working for either crypt or in the red at the time (seems like they were sharing office space for a bit, which is why i can't remember who he was actually working for)
