Raise the Corn

This is a twelve-acre corn maze made by a New Hampshire farmer in honor of Stanley Cup-winning goalie Tim Thomas. How will you top this when the Sharks win in 2012?

That's impressive, but isn't it a bit early for hockey posts? Unless the NHL season starts soon? Dear God, that can't be possible! It just ended 2 months ago, right?

On a definite good note, it's looking like the NBA may cancel this season. Which does raise my hopes that something better will replace it. Like a meaningful regular season. Or less teams. Or reading and cribbage.

Tom, myself and Sonny are seeing Mr Jim Jones tonight in SF. I'm really excited. I'm ready for some Little Richard style Rock n Roll.

that's not a hockey post- it's a testament to one man's obsessive artistic devotion- or something. Why do I suddenly want to watch The Shining?

Tom, I'm in a Fantasy Football League for the first time in ten years and my chances appear slim given that I had not heard of most of the top-rated players. Isn't Arien Foster an abstract painter? Ya got any last-minute sleeper picks?

Anybody heard anything new and interesting lately? I'm running out of old.

i'm afraid i'm largely in the same boat fantasy wise, printed out a top 200 players and went off that, trying to pick from a couple teams i like as much as possible so that i don't have to root for teams i hate etc...

really good new album, sorry semi self promotion, Royal Headache S/T lp just came out and they are in the us touring right now

I'll look out for them- ya got a one-line description?

"Finally, the debute LP from Sydney's ROYAL HEADACHE is here! Beautiful 60s pop inspired garage punk gems, out on RIP SOCIETY..."

goner might have a better description, but i can see it from work. singer has a real soulful voice, so descriptions tend to get into an area where they could just as easily be describing the bell rays, not saying that's bad, but just differant takes on the same thing, i guess

The Jim Jones revue was AWESOME. I am worthless at work today, but that was the best show I saw since the Oblivians play last year. Just amazing musicianship, showmanship, ....the whole 9 yards. A hardy fuck you to pretentious indie music that seems to have been so prevalent over the past few years.

Yeah! I'm a believer!

I was thinking they were like rock n roll comfort food, with all the old ingredients mom used to deliver but just that new spice that gave it a fresh and different kick. I don't care how many cliches they pulled out of the bag- give in and it's just pure fun. Those guys look like hardened rock n roll freaks- old, ugly, greased up and like the Outsiders gone middle-aged. That piano player was straight out of central casting for Geek Love. Good times- who'd a thunk it?!
