i'll have to think about it and i can't get on blogs at work anymore. will try to write a recap tmrw and post it when i get home. manhunt was amazing though, look out for their new 7" on in the red and lp on 12xu
also, i think deaf wish will be in your area this weekend, they were definately one of the bands blowing people away. i knew what to expect because i got to see them in sydney a few years ago
If you wanna call yourself Bruce, I guess thats cool. I mean I think it would be more weird i you changed from Tom to Tanya, or something like that. Not that I'm judging, of course.
Deaf Wish and Manhunt? Great tip. I will check them out, Bruce. Still wanna hear more about it. Can you post on this site?
Deaf Wish is playing at the Hemlock on Sunday and at 1234Go Records (that's 40th between Broadway and Telegraph- right down the street) on Monday night. I'm game for the Oaktown show if you are, Tuna man
Will keep an eye out for Manhunt- can't find the Deaf Wish album and not for lack of trying- hook a brother up, Bruce? checked out some youtube clips and said yes
can't post on this from work, or see it. there's a new lp which is actually deaf wish's first but had never been on vinyl, they may have some with them or i may get some back before they fly back to oz, but right now i'm sold out of all three. got practice in a second, but maybe saturday i'll go more in depth
drips and drips...aussie's were awesome, trying to stay away from talking about them for fear of self interest. deaf wish sonic youth in that period when they were covering ramones, straight arrows best 60's band i've seen since the gories/mummies, kitchens floor can't explain, fall/ bits of kiwi sound, and royal headache rod fronting the faces, plus bed wetting bad boys played at my bbq and were all that you would want from a replacements worshiping band. i was working so i missed alot of stuff. aussies did not tear apart my house, and i witnessed no band that sucked. shit i didn't mention rev wilkins, awesome. true sons of thunder, heard were great, but i was inside when they played. too much, got to try to keep the aussies down to one band next year so that i can get some relaxation in when i get home. i guess i could make them get a hotel, but it just doesn't seem right
thanks, dude- sounds like an exhausting but satisfying weekend- hope your health holds and that some day I make it out to Gonerfest- gonna check out Deaf Wish in Oakland on Monday night.
