Anvil

No review, just a weepy recommendation for the documentary on Anvil. The boys (uh, 50+ geezers) in the band are endearing and the story is not pure Spinal Tap (although they do have big ST moments) but a reason to keep on pushing when the peanut gallery keeps laughing at your middle-age. I'm going for a tissue, for the right reason for a change. Rent the damn movie, and wipe that smirk off your face.

I picked up my Fender twin last night. Seems like a great time to start a band. We could call ourselves Gadnium. It's the heaviest of metal, you know.

What's the deal with our tickets for Budget Rock? How many shows are we going to? I've got to meet a real estate agent and have dinner with the folks on Friday or Sunday night. What's, the deal??

Gadnium- the heaviest metal not yet discovered- beautiful

If you can, set up your adult gigs for Sunday night- I'm gonna try and make it Friday and Saturday. You should also skoot down to the Eagle on Thursday to get with your people, he he.

Are you going to be in the city SaturDAY? or just Saturday night?

What do we have tickets for?

I have no plans at this point. Let's talk on the phone and sort things out. Right now, though, I'm hoping to go Friday and Saturday nights.

We should have tickets for all three nights. I'm going to the Missouri Lounge tonight so I'll get all the specific info. Let's talk over the weekend, if you're around.

sounds good.

I like you hanging at hipster bars on a school night.

How as the Missouri Lounge? Was the underground rock scene all there? Hot girls with nose rings? Free rounds of PBR for the Busted Lives warrior-poet-rhythm guitarist?

Cant wait for Budget Rock. I'll call you tomorrow.

Tonight @ Uptown, Oakland- NomeansNo, Victims Family, Triclops! 21+ $13 9pm *** @ (KFJC)
hahahahahahahahaha! It's always 1987 at the Uptown.

by the way, I'm listening to Channel 3's Last Time I Drank right now- all nostalgia, all the time.

The Missouri was fine- got to hear Monoshock's "Hawkwind Show" in a bar.

Picked up some Burger King fries and came home and watched The Legend of Billy Jack.

I want to go out again tonight, but NoMeansNo? I'm not sure I have it in me anymore- at least the band would be older than I am. Oh, bruno, oh no.
