All is going really well. My new job is very demanding and pretty full on, but I really enjoy things. I do have the feeling my life is just happening around me. Emma is twenty weeks pregnant and I am nervous and excited at the same time for the arrival of number two. I am still hoping to win cash so we can fly out to California, but haven't been lucky lately. How are you going and how are the holidays? I am assuming school is out for summer. By the way did you see that The Netherlands have secured themselves a spot in next years world cup? I am hoping and trying to plan a visit to The Netherlands around the same time. Now I was thinking... I still have to discuss all this with Emma, but I am really keen to go to Europe around that time... Anyway let's talk. How are you? I am sure it's all nice and summer in Oakland and there is enough beer flowing in all the pubs around Oaktown.
glad to hear the job is going well- I can certainly understand the anxiety about number two- that can be tough, now having to juggle- it's not as easy to "take turns," if you know what I mean. You'll figure it out, though.
Yea, I just finished yesterday- things ain't great there, but I won't bore you with the details- the kids are fine, but the adults? Well, not everyone ages gracefully and fairness and decency don't always prevail- and so it goes.
Yea, I was watching the US play Italy yesterday (the US is horrible, again) and it got me interested in World Cup- a bit of research showed the Orange boys qualified first out of Europe, and some blog ranked them three in the world. Can't get my hopes up, given past experience, but I'm glad things are going well- at least at this stage.
We are scheduled to go to Europe with the whole family next year- I'm not sure quite how, given the cost and the logistical nightmares, but that is the current plan. It'd be fantastic if you could also make it, but I'm sure it won't be easy for you either, with a baby and a toddler. Why don't we just meet up in Hawaii- isn't that about half way? We can say a prayer to Obama and then stay drunk for a week- let the kids run wild on the beach.
Anyway, let's try to talk soon. Give my best to Emma.
