I can't believe Sanchez held it together AND even provided the first bit of offensive power. Even if the Giants bats go into hibernation and they lose in 3 straight, this has been a great year. The Gyros now have several players who can be part of their future and for once they just aren't pitchers. Now if only we can drown Barry Zito when no one is looking, we are looking at a real dynasty.

Rumor is Zito will be left at home. This is shocking if true. I never thought the Giants management woul ever admit what a disaster Barry is.
Oh and Budget Rock is getting closer!
well, dynasty might be pushing it a bit. They haven't won a single playoff series, and given their propensity for going two games without scoring, they could be finished in three games. But the starting pitching looks great at the moment, barring injuries next year, and until contracts come up or egos get inflated, that should remain a strength.
But who cares about next year? It's all about right now- hopefully, Lincecum will take command and they can squeeze out a low-scoring game. Lowe has been awesome in September, so don't expect the bats to suddenly erupt.
But no matter what happens, the Oblivians, Reigning Sound and Jack O will play on one weekend in the Bay Area.
Win win.
Dynasty=joke. I fully anticipate the Giants bats to disappear. Just like I am sure their are many disappointing free agents that will be signed by Sabes this offseason. Long term, this team has Posey and great pitching going for it. Thats it. But I am going to try to enjoy this ride for as long as it lasts.
sorry- the irony detector must have been down.
I'm curious if Panda returns to his rookie form- you see flashes of it, and if he could, he and Posey could be the 3 & 4 hitters for awhile. That is obviously a giant if, but it's hard to imagine two more likeable hitting starts.
My feeling regarding Panda is he would rather eat than put in the time to become a great player. On the other hand, Posey seems focused like a laser on baseball.
On a personal level, I can relate to Sandoval. All that free clubhouse food. Yum!
