Sandwina, God of Bloat

All hail the bloat of Sandwina, our symbol of that most religious of American holidays, Super Bowl Sunday.  We wish you reflux, indigestion, flatulence and halitosis at your Monday meeting. May Roger Goodell go with you . . .

My favorite moment was my mom texting me during half time "Who are the Black Eyed Peas and what is their significance?"

With all the problems in our country presently, there was Super Bowl just seemed obscene to me.

I was at a party with about forty people, and at one point, two of us were watching the game. The Black Eyed Peas made no sense to me. It was like watching Martian music. My favorite part was when when Michael Douglas compared this game to JFK, MLF and 9/11.

The Super Bowl significance lies in it's ability to maintain an enormous audience during an era defined by fragmentation. It is in the end It is an empty spectacle for an a beaten down audience craving for a brief
monent of glamour, wealth and fantasy. Most important is just providing this enormous platform for the game's sponsors. I find it really dehumanizing, tasteless and depressing. Which is odd, bc I like football and thought it was a good game.

The oscars is similar to the super bowl except it is much smaller and inclusive of gay people, which the super bowl is not.

But enough of my yacking... Pitchers and catchers report in a week!
