I have stolen $10k worth of music in the last week. What are you listening to?

Me:

Baby Shambles- Down in the Albion. Not very good, but the Pete Daugherty drug saga is a must read.
BBQ- Tie Your Noose. Good stuff, if quaint.
Black Randy- Pass the Dust. More drug madness.
Carbonas- Rock and Roll Romance. Solid.
Digger and The Pussycats- Watch Your Back. Aussie take on Jim Carrol at his best. Oh, and country bits, too.
Guilty Hearts-s/t. Even more solid.
Kris Kristofferson-Greatest Hits. Country soul sounds great on the 6 subway.
Mummies- Fuck The Mummies. So Bay Legends, mean stuff.
O.V. Wright- The Soul of O.V. Wright. Almost as good as Al Green. And thats pretty damn good.
Riverboat Gamblers- Something to Crow About. Ken, I was wrong. Forgive me?

well, to call bbq "quaint" is just silly, but i'm assuming you mean he harkens back to another time. Good music is good music, and timeless voices are that way because they can work in any era. Quality transcends eras, which is why folks will still be listening to bbq long after that babyshakes dude is dead and buried. God Tuna, whatever happened to your bullshit detector?

where's the edit function? the optimator makes a man stupid and stupider- that tirade was directed at my wall as my throat constricted- tony, how did you manage all those months living with the mom-in-law?

forgive me- i'm losing it

Hang in there. But whats an optimator? I was unemployed which ws actually a good thing. It allowed me to go to the gym for like 2 hours a day and just run and work out and basically when I got home I was too tired to fight. And there was the blog of course.

How much longer?

optimator is a 7% German beer

we don't fight at all, but I cannot find a moment's privacy, which has constricted my throat and basically turned me into an even bigger ahole (you thought it wasn't possible!) than ever. Makes me realize how desperately I need downtime and at least an hour to just chill on the couch.

yeah that sounds rough. Physical reactions, too. Im a bit nervous about a lack of chill time myself. I am to begin classes (as in plural) two days a week after work. One is for my job, another is for rawk. Im excited but I am also worried I will snap with so little free time. On the other hand I ought to be able to finally write the rock opera based upon Sonny Parker's life Ive always wanted to do.

Speaking of which..where is your music list? Oh, and go back and read what I said about Baby Shambles. The performer's life (focus of a NY Times article today) is amazing to read about in a car wreck way (arrested 3x just on Friday!). I dont think I could be more clear on his band's music.

Excerpts from a lil online chat with King this am: "never again at thee parkside. it really turned folks off of us. i guess they didn't realize that the mics weren't on. oh well. that chicks tits are awesome!"

New record (In the Red) and tour back here this summer. Cant wait.

no, you were absolutely clear about Babyshambles- i was just on some weird hatevibe as the optimator turned me to the dark side. You could correct me, but I believe this is the biggest meltdown I've ever had.

AND THERE ARE STILL FIVE MORE DAYS

Please dont tell me you have guns/explosives/long knives. Listen to me. You're a living breathing organism on this planet. Do you have Eat A Peach by The Allman Bros? Put on side one and drink a lot of vitamin C. You'll be off this acid trip soon.

sonny house said...

i can't put on music because there they are, on the couch, forever and ever and ever. I'll try the vitamins though. And breathing, long slow breaths

What about Fisherman's Wharf? Alcatraz or Coit Tower? Monterey or Tahoe??

sonny house said...

those cost money (OK, not all of them, but you catch my drift).

yea, that's a big part of the reason why this has been so difficult- in the past, they used to go places. No more.

I need to stop whining but I'm like the crackhead of complaint-

I JUST CAN'T GET ENOUGH

What about building a cabana so in the future you can escape to it? Put it in back. Or remodel that garage this spring. Yeah, dude that's the ticket! hell sound proof it and there's your b.p. spot.

God, Im brilliant.
